Comfort Restaurant

Comfort is a Richmond based restaurant located in the heart of downtown specializing in southern cuisine. Started in 2002 by famed local chef Jason Alley Comfort has been a Richmond staple for over 15 years.

In 2002 Comfort was one of the only approachable fine dining spots in the immediate area but due to Richmond's growing popularity and food scene it has been flooded with new restaurants.

In preparation for the first big menu change in 15 years, Comfort wanted to reestablish itself in the local food scene. Inspired by the southern decor featuring Dolly Parton memorabilia, exposed brick walls and hundred-year-old flooring we agreed the aesthetic should be classically southern.

With inspiration in place, we came up with a concept that told the narrative of Comfort's history and southern roots. The font choices hark back to classic posters from Nashville's Hatch Show Print. The Storefront illustration and Established copy reinforce the narrative of the historical significance of Comfort and Richmond.
